Haymitch Abernathy is fighting to survive the Second Quarter Quell in the new trailer for the forthcoming* Hunger Games* prequel, *Sunrise on the Reaping. *

The clip shows Abernathy (Joseph Zada) as he attends the District 12 reaping ceremony, where he is ultimately selected as a tribute to face off in the deadly games.

"Haymitch Abernathy, I bet I know a thing or two about you," the nefarious President Snow (Ralph Fiennes) tells the tribute, before offering a reminder about his current situation: "you are on your own now."

This year’s Hunger Games also marks the Second Quarter Quell, which means there will be double the number of tributes on the battlefield. That includes Maysilee (McKenna Grace), a fellow District 12 tribute and potential ally in the lead-up to the games.

The trailer also gives viewers a look at some familiar faces as they head into the games, including a young Effie Trinket (Elle Fanning), Caesar Flickerman (Kieran Culkin), Wiress (Maya Hawke), and Beetee (Kelvin Harrison Jr.).

And, from the looks of it, a plan between tributes and victors may be underway to thwart the games entirely.

"If we can stop the games, we can stop the Capitol, too," Beetee tells Haymitch as Wiress looks on in the background.

"The arena, it's a killing machine," Wiress says. "But all machines can be broken."

A killing machine the arena certainly is, as footage shows Haymitch rising up into the stadium surrounded by his fellow tributes. He can also be seen sprinting away from several large explosions and fighting off another tribute with a spear.

"I'm sick of living in fear, just surviving," he says. "We're not animals to kill for their entertainment!"

Jesse Plemons, Whitney Peak, Glenn Close, and Iris Apatow round out the main cast. Jennifer Lawrence and Josh Hutcherson, who played Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark in the original *Hunger Games *movies — set two-and-a-half decades after the events of *Sunrise on the Reaping* — will also reprise their roles for the prequel.
